The Big Listen will provide a space where we come together to listen to what has purchase on our hearts and the stories that live underneath whatever work we do in the world. This programme brings together practices from the Buddhist tradition and Wilderness Practices (including Way of Council and the Medicine Walk) all held within an embodied perspective. An embodied perspective suggests that we come home to the body in an earthy physical sense (instinctive, grounded, playful and sensual). Weaving together these threads we discover our place of
Be-longing (being and longing for) and a deeper connection to ourselves and the wider community.
A window into our time together...
During our time together we’ll come from morning meditation and mindful bodywork to soulful story telling, making time to listen deeply using the Way of Council model.
The afternoons will involve working with nature-based practices in the beautiful landscapes. These tools and techniques alongside supporting contemplative self reflection, invite a deeper conversation between our most authentic selves and the wisdom found in nature.
The evenings will be set aside for integrating the threads of our days. To support this we may go dancing, walking with the moon and through creativity and play.
At the heart of the process there will be an opportunity to be alone with your own true self and wild nature. The ‘solo’ is a rich and often unforgettable practice experienced by peoples throughout time.
Landmarks of this journey will be nature connection activities, meditations, way of council, the 4 Shields of Human Nature (eco-psychology), mirror of nature, body awareness, dance and a constant flow of exploration.
